5.7L V8 engine

The 5.7L V8 engine with Fuel Saving Technology boasts an impressive 259 kW @ 5200 rpm and 520 Nm of torque and provides a 3,356-kg (7,400-lb) towing capacity⁺. The new enhanced, eight-speed automatic transmission and Eco Mode help provide excellent fuel efficiency.

Smooth and efficient
eight-speed transmission

The exceptional new eight-speed automatic transmission provides quick acceleration and smooth shifting. Engage the new slapstick shifter into Sport or Drive Mode and you have full control of the upshifts with the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifter controls. It also allows for a crawl ratio of 44.1:1 to aid in off-roading⁺ (when equipped with a two-speed transfer case).

Eco Mode helps improve fuel economy by adjusting the transmission shift schedule, idle speed and interactive deceleration fuel shut off. In models equipped with a V8 engine, Eco Mode also adjusts Fuel Saver cylinder deactivation. Automatically engaged upon vehicle start up, Eco Mode activates the available Quadra-Lift^® air suspension system and lowers the Jeep_® Grand Cherokee when the vehicle’s speed exceeds 88 kph (55 mph). On 4WD models in 4H, the system alters the front-to-rear torque split to help increase fuel efficiency.

Traction Control

Legendary Jeep_® vehicle capability improves with the Selec-Terrain^® traction control system, giving you five modes to tackle almost any condition including snow. Traction is also enhanced through the available Quadra-Trac II^® or Quadra-Drive^® II 4WD systems. The available Quadra-Lift^® air suspension system features five height settings for optimum ride performance.

Quadra-Lift^®
Air Suspension System

This revolutionary system gives you ultimate control of your suspension by raising your vehicle to a maximum ground clearance of 272 mm (10.7 inches) which is 66 mm (2.6 inches) higher than normal ride height. You can also lower it 4 cm (1.6 inches) 38mm (1.5 inches) for easy entry, exit and loading. The system also raises the vehicle from back-to-front to help keep its headlights focused on the road.

• Quadra-Trac II^® offers all-speed traction control to help keep you on course. If wheel slippage occurs, torque can be routed to the axle with the most traction. Low-range helps provide rock-crawling prowess.
• Quadra-Drive^® II gives you excellent capability with its Electronic Limited-Slip Differential (ELSD), which transfers up to 100% of torque to the wheel(s), if needed, to help deliver year-round traction on wet or dry surfaces.

The new Selec-Speed^® Control, which includes both Hill Ascent Control and Hill Descent Control, assists drivers with ascending and descending steep grades. Hill Descent Control helps you monitor throttle, speed and braking when you're traveling down a hill and need it most. The Hill Start Assist maintains brake pressure after you’ve taken your foot off the brake pedal to give you time to accelerate without rollback.
